Lensing starts Sept. 17 in New Mexico on the pic, centered on a teacher who tries to save his drama department by writing a sequel to William Shakespeare's "Hamlet." Project's based on a script co-written by Fleming ("Nancy Drew") and Pam Brady ("Team America: World Police").
Eisner's producing with Aaron Ryder. Bona Fide partners Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa ("Little Miss Sunshine") will exec produce "Hamlet 2," which carries a budget in the $10 million to $15 million range.
L+E is fully financing "Hamlet 2" and expects to produce and finance at least three films per year in the $5 million to $25 million range.
Eisner, son of former Disney chief Michael Eisner, said he worked on setting up the shingle for three years while he was exec producing ESPN's "Madden Nation."
"We've developed this very slowly with the idea being to independently finance films that look like studio films," he added. "Were putting the money up on the screen."
