Two-time Oscar-winning actress Dianne Wiest has joined the cast of Fox midseason comedy "The Return of Jezebel James" in a recurring role.
Though Wiest has focused mainly in films over her career, she has been a regular player in NBC's "Law & Order" franchise, appearing as district attorney Nora Lewin in all three of the "L&O" series. On "Jezebel James," Wiest will portray the mother of Lauren Ambrose and Parker Posey.
Wiest won Oscars for her supporting roles in the Woody Allen comedies "Bullets Over Broadway" and "Hannah and her Sisters." She co-stars in the upcoming Disney film "Dan in Real Life" and played Chazz Palminteri's wife in last year's indie "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints."
Half-hour laffer "Jezebel James," about one sister who is carrying the other's baby, is exec produced by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino. Show is produced by Regency Television.
