"It's about a slacker who discovers he has supernatural powers but uses these new-found powers for selfish reasons," Bishop said.
He said he got the idea after watching "Highlander" -- the 1986 fantasy tale starring Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery -- and wondering what he and his buddies would do if they got such powers.
Platt set the project up at U through his shingle based on the lot. He is producing and Adam Goldberg is exec producing.
Adam Siegel and Jared LeBoff are overseeing for the shingle and Jeff Kirschenbaum is doing the honors for Universal.
Bishop has delivered a draft of "Night of the Living Dorks," the Stateside remake of the 2004 German pic, for Warner Independent. Goldberg is also producing that with Vertigo Entertainment.
Platt has several projects in the works, including Angelina Jolie-starrer "Wanted" and Jonathan Demme's "Dancing With Shiva."
Bishop is repped by Endeavor and Kaplan/Perrone.
