Buyers get sneak preview of films

Footage will be shown privately at Toronto

Outside the festival, new footage from films in the works and even near-completed pics will be showing privately to buyers. Among the expected previews:

  • ICM will sneak buyers a peek at Paul Schrader's post-WWII drama "Adam Resurrected," with Jeff Goldblum. (ICM's indie topper Hal Sadoff says he's had lots of success with the strategy, noting he sold "Ferris Wheel" to Overture off just 30 minutes of footage at Sundance.)

  • The Collective will unspool some scenes of L.A. drama "Powder Blue" to select U.S. buyers. Forest Whitaker stars as a priest who's lost his faith; Jessica Biel plays a single mom who's lost her way.

  • Capitol will show a promo of post-Katrina New Orleans-set action-thriller "Black Water Transit," helmed by Tony Kaye and starring Laurence Fishburne and Karl Urban. Pic just wrapped.

  • Lumina will unveil a promo for Brit thriller "Donkey Punch," from digi production shop Warp X. Optimum will distribute in the U.K., and Universum has it for Germany.
