'Joust' clicks with CP

Cerenzie-Peters banner gets first project

Michael Cerenzie and Christine Peters' new production banner, CP Prods., has nabbed its first project, optioning "Joust," an arcade game that first debuted in 1982, from publisher Midway Games.

Though "Joust" has had several sequels, the original game, in which one or two players control a knight on a flying ostrich who combats flying buzzards, is best known.

Game has more recently become available to download and play on PCs and Microsoft's Xbox 360.

The Cerenzie-Peters banner will specialize in adapting graphic novels, comicbooks, novels and videogames. Peters is developing "Area 51," a Midway game that was released in 2005, through her CFP shingle. (The vidgame's sequel is set for release in November.)

Cerenzie, through his Unity Prods., is a producer on the recently wrapped "Black Water Transit," directed by Tony Kaye and starring Laurence Fishburne.
