Pic, which will screen in the Pusan Film Festival's new gala section in October, probes the glitz and infighting of Singapore's Getai music subculture.
"881" was produced by Zhao Wei Films and MediaCorp Raintree Pictures in association with Scorpio East Pictures, the Media Development Authority of Singapore and Infinite Frameworks.
In Singaporean theaters for three weeks and rising to top spot in its third frame, pic grossed S$580,000 ($381,000) in its first week, $394,000 the second and an estimated $433,000 the third week for a cume of $1.21 million, according to Scorpio East.
Easternlight will rep the pic worldwide outside Singapore, Malaysia and Japan.
