Eros dons White Feather

Duo pact for 15 features

Bollywood major Eros Intl. has struck a co-production, marketing and distribution deal with White Feather Films for 15 pics with a total budget of 2.5 billion rupees ($60 million).

Shingle is owned by Sanjay Gupta and actor Sanjay Dutt, who was recently released from jail pending his appeal of a conviction for weapons possession.

First up is "Dus kahaniyan" (10 Tales), a big-budget spectacular involving seven directors, 10 stories and an all-star cast. Also on the slate are "Pankh," helmed by Sudipto Chattopadhyay, and "The Great Indian Butterfly," helmed by Sarthak Dasgupta.

As part of the arrangement, Eros also boards Gupta's "Alibaug" as co-producer.

"Our collaboration with Eros Intl. is aimed at creating a synergy of creative talent and market leadership," Gupta said. White Feather last year produced hit "Shootout at Lokhandwala" and established an arthouse division.

Eros, which has a 1,300-title library and is listed on the London Stock Exchange, has set a Sept. 14 global release for friendship drama "Nanhe Jaisalmer," starring Bobby Deol and newcomer Dwij Yadav.
