Before the screening, Zombie thanked the original film's helmer, John Carpenter, and acknowledged executive producer Bob Weinstein's support: "Bob kept saying one thing over and over, 'Make it more Rob f---ing Zombie, wouldja?' He said that so many times that it actually started to confuse me."
Guests were squealing and jumping out of their chairs during the screening, and some super squeamish ones even had to exit the theater for a smoke on Hollywood Boulevard. Luckily, everyone's nerves were calmed a bit thanks to the free-flowing libations at the Geisha House after-party, where the trailer played continuously, reminding revelers of the horror they'd just witnessed.
