Fitchett, who took over as acting CEO from Kim Dalton last year, said he had taken the job at an interesting period for the industry.
"The government has introduced the most significant change to the structure of funding to the industry in 20 years, so it is an exciting time to be at the helm," he said.
Fitchett added that it's his role to ensure that the new incentives make their way through to the local industry and do not just attract runaway overseas productions.
