Keith Kjarval acquired, developed and will produce the film for his Unified Pictures banner. Ben Ruffman will exec produce.
Pic begins shooting in Los Angeles later this month and marks Craig Carlisle's feature directorial debut. He previously directed theater, including Liz Tuccillo's "Joe Fearless."
Script, penned by Carlisle, revolves around a sardonic sales exec for a futon company owned by his mother. He begins to fall for the woman his mother has hired to replace him.
Unified was formed in 2005 to produce cost-effective genre films. Credits include "Don't Move," starring Penelope Cruz; "The Perfect Sleep," starring Roselyn Sanchez; and "XII," directed by Michael A. Nickles.
