Summit will finance and distribute the pic in North America as well as in a majority of territories around the globe. Icon will co-finance the film and distribute in the U.K., Australia/New Zealand and sell the film rights in Asia and South Africa.
Shooting will begin next month in Hong Kong for a 2008 release date.
"Push" centers on a group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities who hide from a U.S. government agency in Hong Kong and band together to try to escape the control of the division. The film is written by David Bourla and is being produced by Infinity's William Vince and Icon's Bruce Davey.
Infinity found the high-concept script and partnered with Icon on the project. Summit was then brought in to finance, produce and distribute the film.
McGuigan recently directed "Lucky Number Slevin." Evans was in "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer"; Fanning will next be seen in "Winged Creatures"; Belle most recently starred in "When a Stranger Calls," and Hounsou recently wrapped "Get Some."
