As part of the tie-up deal, GDH will provide Shanghai-based Wang You with a $500,000 capital injection. The company will use the coin to distribute GDH-supplied toons via its toon- streaming website, 8850.com.
In addition to GDH's own Gonzo brand toons, GDH will provide content from other toon houses, with regular updates.
In running the 8850.com site, Wang You will use the expertise of affiliate Beijing Yangguang Wangshi Internet Technology, which operates Wangyou.com, a social networking site with 10 million registered members.
Wang You will also participate in a Digital Content Assn. of Japan project to support the export of Japanese toons to China. As part of the project, Wang You will collect and analyze data on viewer traffic, site revenue and the volume of pirated Japanese toons.
