Shorts directed by Jennifer Aniston and Bryce Dallas Howard are among those slated at the 13th edition of the Palm Springs Festival of Short Films, unspooling Aug. 23-29. The largest short film event in North America, the fest will screen 332 films, including shorts starring James Gandolfini, Joe Mantegna, Patrick Stewart and Robin Wright Penn.

Themed programs include war stories, horror, gay and lesbian lifestyles and animation. Fest, which screens entries from 40 countries, is designated as a qualifying festival by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Event also includes a short film market, with 2,500 films available for screening.

A total of $14,000 in cash prizes will be awarded in nine categories.
