3-Legged Dog sets '07-'08 slate

Mee will premiere 'Fire Island'

A new multi-media work from Charles Mee and a collaboration between Laurie Anderson, South African filmmaker William Kentridge and Danish troupe Hotel Pro Forma are among the offerings on the 2007-08 slate at downtown Gotham's 3-Legged Dog.

Mee, the scribe whose work will be showcased over the entire season at Off Broadway's Signature Theater, will preem new project "Fire Island" at technologically cutting-edge venue 3LD in April 2008.

"Island" -- which includes an HD video work, an ongoing Internet presence and the use of new projection tech called 3-D Eyeliner -- will create a large-scale installation and performance that involves more than 100 artists, including Tuvan throat singer Albert Kuvezin, who will perform live and on video.

The exploratory, yet-to-titled work from Anderson, Kentridge and Hotel Pro Forma is part of 3LD's Artist Residency Program. Hotel Pro Forma will have a brief stint there in December.

Among the groups getting longer residencies at 3LD are troupes Troika Ranch, whose experimental multi-media show "Loop Diver" will bow in September; Tricksaddle, whose adaptation of Maria Irene Fornes' "Fefu and her Friends," "Wickets," will perform in January 2008; the Hourglass Group's "Frequency Hopping," with a score by downtown vet Joshua Fried and public perfs set for June 2008; and filmmaker Stephen Earnhart's authorized adaptation of Haruki Murakami's novel "The Wind Up Bird Chronicles," featuring Bunraku puppetry and Butoh dance and performing in September 2008.

Also in residence for parts of the season are Lightbox Theater Company with "The Food Project," Roland Gebhardt with "The Only Tribe" and Vision 3 with "Third Tango and "The Miracle."
