Brett Ratner’s “Rush Hour 3” clocked in an estimated $18.5 million at the domestic box office on Friday from 3,778 runs, off 20% from the previous installment’s opening day number of $23 million.

In second, Universal’s “The Bourne Ultimatum” grossed an estimated $10.4 million from 3,686 engagements; a 58% drop from its opening day take. Pic’s current cume stands at $109.1 million. Among other holdovers, “The Simpsons Movie” posted an estimated $3.6 million in its third frame from 3,552 runs, moving its cume to $144.7 million. Disney’s “Underdog” rang up $2.2 million at 3,013 venues for a new total of $20.5 million.

Other new entries trailing behind “Rush” included Par’s “Stardust” with an estimated $2.99 million from 2,540 theaters and Tri-Star-Revolution’s sequel “Daddy Day Camp” which grossed $1.3 million from 2,332 theaters. Since its Wednesday bow, “Camp” has grossed $2.8 million.

After Dark Films’ horror pic “Skinwalkers” scared up few frights in Friday estimates; a mere $177,000 off of 737 playdates.

Prior to “Ultimatum’s” $69.3 million opening last weekend, 2001’s “Rush Hour 2” held the record for an August opener at $67.4 million. At $33 million, the first “Rush Hour” still ranks as the second highest September domestic bow of all-time. That pic’s Friday cume rang up $9.9 million.
