New copy from the Fox archives of Ford's silent 1924 epic, centered on the construction of the first transcontinental railway, will unspool on the Lido on Sept. 8.
Redman's feature-length docu covers the years Ford spent at Fox during the reign of Darryl F. Zanuck.
Venice honored Ford with a Golden Lion for lifetime achievement in 1971.
Fest will unspool as special events freshly restored prints of five classic 1950s Westerns by cult Hollywood helmer Budd Boetticher. They include "The Tall T," "Decision at Sundown," "Buchanan Rides Alone" and "Ride Lonesome," all starring Randolph Scott.
Venice will be all about oaters this year, with Quentin Tarantino on hand as patron and presenter of a sidebar and a confab dedicated to spaghetti Westerns.
The Lido's 64th edition runs Aug. 29-Sept. 8.
