Jamie Bell rings up Zwick film

Actor joins Craig, Schreiber in 'Defiance'

Jamie Bell is set to join Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber in "Defiance," the Paramount Vantage drama that Ed Zwick has written and will direct this fall.

Bell joins Craig and Schreiber as Jewish brothers who escape Nazi-occupied Poland and head into the forest to join Russian resistance fighters and try to save the lives of other Jews. The film is based on a true story.

Zwick, who last directed "Blood Diamond," is producing through his Bedford Falls banner.

Bell, first seen in "Billy Elliot," recently completed a starring role in the Doug Liman-directed "Jumper" for New Regency. He plays the title character in "Hallam Foe," which debuts in the upcoming Edinburgh Film Festival.
