Carlisle steps in for Schwartz

New Line finds new marketing guru

New Line has tapped Fox Broadcasting and FX marketing topper Chris Carlisle as its domestic theatrical marketing chief, replacing Russell Schwartz.

New Line made the announcement Tuesday, a day after Schwartz announced his departure. Carlisle will start work at the mini-major on Aug. 20.

During his Fox tenure, Carlisle's engineered campaigns for "House," "The Shield," "Rescue Me" and "The Simpsons."

He also oversaw formation of an in-house ad agency, Fox Infinity; began programming original vignettes to run during ad breaks; launched an early broadcast initiative offering free streaming episodes online and audio podcasts; and headed a campaign that distributed over 2 million DVDs featuring the pilot episode of "House" in 2004.
