Sanders, Gaines confirmed for 'Pygmalion'
Jay O. Sanders, soon to begin perfs in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in Central Park, and Boyd Gaines ("Journey's End") are confirmed to join Claire Danes and Jefferson Mays in "Pygmalion," which opens at the American Airlines in October.
The company's other Broadway offering of the fall, a Joe Mantello-helmed production of "The Ritz," will see Rialto man-about-town Seth Rudetsky and porn star Ryan Idol join the large ensemble of Terrence McNally's play about a gay bathhouse. Show is toplined by Rosie Perez, Kevin Chamberlain and Brooks Ashmanskas.
Meanwhile, Ron Cephas Jones, Sam Robards and Linda Powell are among the thesps on board for Max Stafford-Clark's Off Broadway staging of J.T. Rogers' "The Overwhelming," about an American family in Rwanda in 1994. Show begins perfs at the Laura Pels Theater at the end of September.
And Gideon Glick ("Spring Awakening") and Susan Blackwell are in the four-thesp cast of Stephen Karam's "Speech & Debate," the inaugural production of the Roundabout's new black box space. Production, helmed by Jason Moore ("Avenue Q"), opens in October.
