Tunie's also producing with Jennifer Maloney and Joe Cilibrasi. That trio teamed to produce Tony winner "Spring Awakening" along with this season's "Legally Blonde" and August Wilson's "Radio Golf."
David Eigenberg, Michael Hyatt, Liza Lapira and James McDaniel also star in "September." Five-week shoot on the $3 million pic begins in Manhattan today.
Pic, based on an idea by Cilibrasi and penned by Victoria Rinaldi, centers on a successful Manhattan woman who's in therapy to deal with her fear of commitment. Just as she's on the verge of a breakthrough, her therapist goes on vacation for the entire month of August, prompting her to organize group therapy for other patients similarly ditched by their therapists going on vacation.
Paradigm is handling packaging for domestic distribution, and Birchtree Films is the foreign distributor.
