Lego vidgames all the rage

'Star Wars' games based on building blocks

The hottest trend in the marriage of Hollywood and videogames these days is ... Legos?

LucasArts' announcement at Comic-Con that it will release "Lego Indiana Jones" in 2008 comes just months after Warners announced that "Lego Batman" is in the works.

LucasArts had surprise hits with "Lego Star Wars" and "Lego Star Wars 2," which have sold more than 7 million units combined. "Lego Star Wars: the Complete Saga," bows this fall.

Publishers love the "Lego" games because they marry two well-known brands with kid-friendly gameplay that has, thus far, appealed to players of all ages.

Developer TT Gameshas developed a lucrative niche turning toy blocks and pop icons into hit vidgames.
