Film Dept. taps Coplan for VP role

Former WIP exec joins indie film company

Former Warner Independent Pictures exec Amanda Coplan has been named VP of production for the Film Dept.

The new indie finance, production and international sales company, founded by former Warner Independent and Miramax Films prexy Mark Gill and former Miramax Films exec VP and Yari Film Group chief operating officer Neil Sacker, has a $200 million capitalization.

Coplan previously worked in development, production and acquisitions at Warner Independent.

Prior to her film career, she served as a brand strategy consultant for entertainment clients including New Line Home Entertainment and Cirque Du Soleil.

The Film Dept. also has named Andrew Klausmeyer, John Meckler, Natalie Borlaug, Christine Otal and Isaac Takeuchi creative execs.
