'Spider-Man 3' spins Blu-ray debut

Hit sequel will bow with six different versions

"Spider-Man 3" will swing onto homevideo in six different ways -- including two Blu-ray disc sets -- on Oct. 30.

Garnering $888 million worldwide in theaters, the movie reps Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's highest-profile Blu-ray release to date. It will be offered as a two-disc edition and as part of a "Spider-Man High Definition Trilogy" compilation package. The trilogy will contain all three installments of the "Spider-Man" franchise -- marking the debut of the first two films on the Blu-ray format.

The same day, "Spider-Man 3" will bow on standard-definition DVD as a single disc, a two-disc special edition and in the trilogy compilation.

Also, Sony will sell "Spider-Man 3" for the PlayStation Portable.

Both Blu-ray and standard-def versions are packed with extras, including nearly a dozen featurettes and various commentaries from stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, director Sam Raimi and other cast and crew members.
