ProSieben elevates 'Simpsons'

Series returns to primetime

By ED MEZA

BERLIN — After years of being relegated to afternoon timeslots, "The Simpsons" is going primetime following the huge success of "The Simpsons Movie" at the German box office.

Looking to benefit from the pic’s boffo performance, local web ProSieben will be airing back-to-back episodes of the series on Mondays at 8:15 p.m.

"The Simpsons" will initially air in the new timeslot for the next three weeks, replacing the weak performing sci-fi series "4400."

"The Simpsons Movie" pulled in a cowabunga $14.3 million over the weekend, knocking "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" from the top spot.
