Suwannath enters Walden's 'Caves'

Sci-fi thriller finds humans living on the moon

Rpin Suwannath will make his directorial debut in Walden Media's adaptation of John Christopher novel "The Lotus Caves."

Sci-fi thriller is set in the year 2068, with humans living on the moon in vast colonies of airtight bubbles. Two teens break out and embark on a quest to find magical, legendary caves.

Suwannath began his career interning at George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic, working on visual effects for "Batman Forever." Suwannath incorporated his pre-visualization techniques, now an industry standard, in the "Chronicles of Narnia" and "X-Men" films, as well as "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" and the "Matrix" sequels.

Steven Granat is attached as executive producer on the project, currently in development.
