Released in Japan on Nov. 11, PS3 moved 1.01 million units by Sunday. Debuting in stores on Dec. 2, Wii sold 2.9 million units by July 8.
Wii reached the million-unit milestone in January. From May 28 to June 24, the Wii outsold the PS3 six to one.
The PS3 has been hampered by a lack of hot game titles and saddled by a price point nearly double the Wii's. The top-selling PS3 title is "Gundam Muso" (Gundam the Peerless), by Bandai Namco, which has moved 279,768 units.
Meanwhile, Microsoft's Xbox, which bowed in Japan in December 2005, sold 420,705 units, according to the Enterbrain numbers.
