Fiorentino revives Russian poet

Actress options rights to Akhmatova film

Actress Linda Fiorentino has optioned rights to Jim Curtis' screenplay about Russian poet Anna Akhmatova and plans to produce the project.

Fiorentino may also star in and direct the project. Akhmatova's best-known work is "Requiem," penned during the apex of Stalinist terror.

Fiorentino's also been developing documentaries about research in juvenile diabetes and autism; "Equal Protection," a docu about discrimination against Italian-Americans; and "The Motherhood," a daytime TV show about parenting techniques.
