Tax rebate will rise in New Zealand

Offers filmmakers new incentives

New Zealand hopes to lure more runaway production by upping the tax rebate it gives filmmakers from 12.5% to 15% on projects that spend more than NZ$15 million ($11.9 million) in the country.

The hike will make the Kiwi industry competitive with Australia, which recently upped its own incentives, and comes after fierce lobbying from New Zealand industry org the Screen Coun-cil.
