Gumpert tapped president of Reliant
Universal alum to oversee banner's slate of films

Gumpert, formerly vice chair of Intermedia Films, will oversee the banner's slate of films, all budgeted above $10 million. Ryan Howe remains prexy of the holding company's Whitsett Hill Films division devoted to pics budgeted under $10 million.
Gumpert will report to Mount, Whitsett CEO.Whitsett, based on the U lot, has a first-look deal with MGM and recently secured a $75 million credit facility with Allied Irish Bank in London (Daily Variety, April 24). The company's most recent film, "Dream It Out Loud," stars AnnaSophia Robb, Matthew Modine and Dylan McDermott.
Gumpert joined Intermedia in 2001, supervising worldwide operations and financial structuring for the company. He joined Intermedia after more than a decade at U, where he was exec VP of Universal Pictures Motion Picture Group.
