Introduced Panavision camera, lens to Asia

Charles Wang, managing director of pan-Asian facilities and movie services group Salon Films, died July 6 in New York. He was 74.

With his brother Fred, Wang provided a bridge between Hollywood and the Asian filmmaking scene.

For his services to the film industry, spanning more than 40 years, Wang received the professional achievement award at the 25th Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony last year.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 29, at the College Chapel of Wang's alma mater, Chung Chi College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shatin.
