Moore finds Connolly's 'Lost Things'

Director options dark fantasy tome

Director John Moore ("The Omen") has optioned feature rights to dark fantasy "The Book of Lost Things" by bestselling Irish author John Connolly.

Published last year, book centers on a 12-year-old English boy whose mother died and father remarried. When a portal to another world opens, the boy enters a land of beasts and monsters, where he must undertake a quest to earn his way back out.

Connolly's other titles in development include his novel "Bad Men" at Sobini Films, with screenwriter Steve Susco attached, and his short story "New Daughter," which has been optioned by Gold Circle with scribe John Travis attached.

He's repped by APA.

Moore's credits include "The Flight of the Phoenix" and "Behind Enemy Lines."
