Patrick exits ESPN's 'SportsCenter'

Most recently, Patrick was host of "NBA Countdown," the studio program preceding pro basketball games on ABC, including the primetime NBA Finals.
Patrick also has hosted ESPN Radio's "The Dan Patrick Show" since 1999. Patrick will devote his last radio broadcast, scheduled for Aug. 17, to reflecting on the show's most memorable segments.
In a statement, Patrick said, "I've spent a third of my life at ESPN. All my children were born while I was employed here." He added that, "I have extremely mixed emotions about leaving."
Co-hosting "SportsCenter" with Keith Olbermann in the mid-'90s, Patrick became the network's No. 1 anchor on its Sunday night signature show before permanently moving over to radio.
Patrick's name was recently entered into the mix as being the next host of "The Price Is Right," following Bob Barker's retirement, but sources say he has turned down the job.
Although his future remains unclear, Patrick may stay in radio and host his own syndicated sports show, similar to Jim Rome's situation at Premiere Radio Networks.
