Pryce is right for 'Glengarry'

Actor to star in West End revival

Jonathan Pryce will star alongside Aidan Gillen in the West End revival of David Mamet’s “Glengarry Glen Ross.” The production, helmed by James Macdonald, is produced by Mark Rubinstein, Ron Kastner, Patrick Myles, Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Jam Theatricals.

Mamet’s play, set in the snake-pit world of hustling real estate, will be designed by Anthony Ward, who worked with Macdonald on the recent Lincoln Center Theater production of Christopher Shinn’s “Dying City.” Previews begin Sept. 28 at the Apollo Theater for an Oct. 10 opening.

Two-time Tony-winner Pryce is no stranger to the play, having played the role of James Lingkin the 1992 movie version. Gillen, too, is a Mamet vet, having recently starred in Mark Brokaw’s production of “American Buffalo” at the Gate Theater in Dublin.

Pryce will play Shelley Levene in the London revival while Gillen will play Ricky Roma. Other cast is to be announced.
