Sven Taddicken's pic took the NT1million ($30,500) top prize, while Korean helmer Kim Young-nam's "Don't Look Back" took home the Special Jury Prize.
Opening film "The Most Distant Course" by Taiwanese newcomer Lin Jing-jie and Polish film "Retrieval" both received special mentions. Audience award was given to Danish pic "Pure Heart."
Fourteen films were selected for the competish, including "Away From Her," the high profile helming debut of Canadian actress Sarah Polley.
The fest, which is chaired by Taiwanese helmer Hou Hsiao-hsien and opened on June 22, has over 200 films in its program. Event has a predominantly youth aud and has attracted more overseas attention since the creation of the international New Talent awards last year.
