'Bees' set to battle for business

Buzz-worthy videogames to sting November

In November, it'll be "The Bee Game" vs. "Bee Movie Game."

In a probably not-too-coincidental coincidence, Midway Games announced Thursday that it will release a title called "Bee Game" in November, the same month that DreamWorks Animation's "Bee Movie" comes out.

The two don't have any official relationship. In fact, Activision is releasing a game licensed from the film, called "Bee Movie Game," at the same time.

Midway's title is based on a classic TV toon called "Maya the Bee."

Though Midway has no deal with DreamWorks, the two "Bee" projects are connected in a roundabout way. Midway's majority owner is Sumner Redstone, who's also chairman of Viacom, parent company of Paramount, which is distributing "Bee Movie." He will apparently be a busy bee this November.
