Krass is negotiating with producers of the PBS series “Great Performances” to broadcast “Company.” No immediate timeline has been set.
Krass’ credits include TV films of concert versions of “Sweeney Todd” (2001) and “Follies” (1986), both musicals written by “Company” composer Stephen Sondheim.
The roster of legit offerings filmed by “Great Performances” includes “Kiss Me, Kate” and “Oklahoma!”
Originally produced by Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, “Company” won the Tony for musical revival earlier this month. But the production, which has not lit up the box office since its November opening, posted a closing notice soon after the win. The show, starring Raul Esparza, shutters Sunday.
