Lensing's set to begin in July in Los Angeles and Florida, with Jeff Wadlow directing and Craig Baumgarten and David Zelon producing.
Summit's partnered with the recently minted Mandalay Independent on "Get Some," the first title to emerge under Cathy Schulman's leadership.
Story centers on a rebellious teen, portrayed by Sean Faris, who's coerced into an underground fight club amid difficulties in adapting to his new high school. Chris Hauty and Robert Munic penned the script.
Hounsou received a supporting actor Oscar nom earlier this year for "Blood Diamond."
Summit has also cast Cam Gigandet ("The OC") to star.
Along with "Get Some," Summit’s going into production this summer on "Step Up 2." Summit principals Robert Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger annually plan to distribute 10-12 pics, including eight that will be inhouse productions.
Hounsou's repped by Gersh and Gigandet by CAA.
