Vaughan takes over 'Vegas' duties

Conflict has director Farino 'Living Biblically'

Tom Vaughan has replaced Julian Farino as director of 20th Century Fox romantic comedy "What Happens in Vegas," starring Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher.

Farino dropped off the project for scheduling reasons, and is now attached to helm Paramount and Plan B's "The Year of Living Biblically."

Vaughan will direct from a script by Dana Fox. Penn Station's Dean Georgaris and Mosaic's Michael Aguilar are producing for Fox.

Set in Sin City, storyline revolves around two strangers who wake up to discover they got married sometime during the previous night's drunken festivities, with one of them winning a huge jackpot on the other's quarter. The couple set out to undermine each other and claim the coin, only to fall in love along the way.

Vaughan, who has directed and written for television, made his feature directorial debut in 2006 with U.K.-U.S. romantic comedy "Starter for Ten," based on David Nicholl's novel of the same name.

Vaughan is repped by CAA in the U.S. and PFD in the U.K.
