Burrows directed the pilot to "Back to You" -- one of six he handled this year (including that for CBS' upcoming newcomer "The Big Bang Theory"). He'll now direct most of this season's episodes of "Back to You."
Twentieth Century Fox TV is behind "Back to You," which comes from exec producers Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd. Grammer plays a washed-up news anchor who winds up back in Buffalo alongside Heaton.
Last season, Burrows served as director and exec producer on CBS' "The Class." He was also the long-running director and exec producer on NBC's "Will & Grace."
Burrows is known for his Midas touch in helming pilots that wind up scoring series orders. His quick-paced directing style has earned raves from producers and talent through the years on shows such as "Friends," "3rd Rock From the Sun," "Dharma & Greg" and "Two and a Half Men."
Burrows was one of the exec producers behind "Cheers."
