She grew up in a theatrical family; her father Edward M. Greenberg was a director and her mother, Sara Dillon Greenberg, was an actress who appeared on Broadway.
Greenberg studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse and Webber Douglas Academy in London, and at Hunter College in New York.

She moved into casting, and after a stint assisting Bonnie Timmerman in New York in the early '90s, she moved to Los Angeles where she had a long association with April Webster Casting.
In association with Timmerman, she cast projects including "CSI," "The Patriot" and "Godzilla."
Returning to New York, she became head associate at Avy Kaufman Casting and went on to cast films including "Brokeback Mountain," "Capote," "National Treasure," "Lemony Snicket -- A Series Of Unfortunate Events" and "Syriana."
