The company has hired Michael Bacall ("Manic") to script the project, which is set up at ContraFilm. Picturehouse won rights at Slamdance to distribute the doc in theaters this summer, while sister company New Line has remake rights and control of docu distribution rights outside North America.
New Line is fast-tracking the feature adaptation, with the original's director, Seth Gordon, attached to helm and Ed Cunningham set as exec producer. Beau Bauman will be a producer.
The docu's set to hit theaters in August.
Bacall's repped by WMA.
