The thesp was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday after her convertible struck a curb, and investigators found what they believe is cocaine at the scene, police said. She admitted herself to an intensive medical rehabilitation facility, according to a statement released by her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnick.
"Because this is a medical matter, it is our hope that the press will appreciate the seriousness of the situation and respect the privacy of Lindsay as well as the other patients receiving treatment at the facility," the statement said.
Zelnick told Daily Variety on Tuesday that she did not know if Lohan will be able to take part in "Poor Things," a dark comedy set to begin shooting on Wednesday. A rep for the producers said the project's still moving ahead and may have to switch schedules.
Lohan, Rosario Dawson and Channing Tatum recently joined the cast of "Poor Things," toplined by Shirley MacLaine and Olympia Dukakis and directed by Ash Baron Cohen. MacLaine's also producing with Rob Hickman; Trent Haaga's script was inspired by recent arrests and convictions of elderly women for scams and cons involving drug sales, insurance fraud and murder.
Lohan disclosed in January that she had checked into a rehab center for substance abuse treatment.
