Alan Martin, 62, stage actor

Thesp starred in several rock musicals

Stage actor Alan Martin, who starred in several rock musicals, died April 22 in Crestline, Calif. He was 62.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 2 at 3 p.m. at the Church of Religious Science in North Hollywood. 

Born in Whittier, Calif., Martin graduated from UCLA's theater department.

He played the lead role of Claude in "Hair" at L.A.'s Aquarius Theater and on the national tour and starred as Pontius Pilate in "Jesus Christ Superstar" at the Universal Ampitheater.

He also appeared in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and more recently in the West Coast revival pf "Footloose 2.0."

Martin also worked in costuming in several theaters' wardrobe departments.

He is survived by his mother and a sister.
