The Film London Production Finance Market, the first of its kind in Blighty, will bring British producers together with international financiers, including private equity firms, hedge funds, banks active in film financing, as well as public funding bodies, broadcasters and sales companies.
Although there are no stipulations that projects on which a deal is reached during the mart must lense in Blighty, half of the 50 producers invited to attend the event will be British.
"It's part of a push to make London seen as a place to do film business," Film London CEO Adrian Wootton said. "By running it during the London Film Festival, we're helping it increase its industry structure, as well as bringing British producers and companies together with financiers from all over the world."
The U.K. Film Council, U.K. Trade and Investment and the London Development Agency are supporting the mart.
