Columbia picks up Thorp pitch

Studio to develop bounty hunter tale

Columbia Pictures has locked up a pitch by Sarah Thorp for Original Film's Neal H. Moritz to develop.

Story revolves around a bounty hunter hired to track and bring back his ex-wife. Madhouse Entertainment's Robyn Meisinger, who represents Thorp, will exec produce.

Moritz enthused about the "fantastic and troubled relationship" at the core of the project.

The Col-based producer has several upcoming films, including "Evan Almighty" for Universal, Will Smith starrer "I Am Legend" for Warners and "Made of Honor" for Col.

Thorp previously scripted "Twisted," the 2004 thriller starring Ashley Judd, and recently wrote and produced the indie "Cornelius," now in post-production. Her small-screen credits include the UPN pilot "Crazy" and "Fat Friends," a Fox pilot last year.
