Mario Mazzone, TV journalist, 48

Reporter featured on 'Informal Mornings'

Mario Mazzone, a popular television journalist in Argentina, died May 20 of a heart attack while playing golf in Pilar, on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. He was 48.

He was a leading reporter on "Mananas informales" (Informal Mornings), a morning newsmagazine hosted by Jorge Guinzburg on broadcaster Artear-Canal 13. He also read news on "TN Central" on cable news network Todos Noticias.

 Mazzone, who battled cancer for more than a year, led newscasts on several radio broadcasters in Buenos Aires.

 He is survived by two daughters and his partner, radio newscaster Marcela Giorgi.
