Deal is the first sale on the pic that Sahamongkol has completed since company retrieved international rights from the Weinstein Co. TWC still holds North America rights. Pic is a non-sequential sequel to "Ong bak," which was breakout movie for action star Tony Jaa. Jaa both stars on and is helming "Ong bak 2."
Splendid recently picked up another Sahamongkol pic, "Tabunfire" (aka "Dynamite Warrior"), which Magnolia has for North America.
