Ganz joins 'Baader' gang

Edel completes casting

CANNES — Bruno Ganz, Alexandra Maria Lara, Karoline Herfurth and Hannah Herzsprung will round out the cast of Teutonic producer Bernd Eichinger's "The Baader-Meinhof Complex."

They join the already announced Moritz Bleibtreu ("Run Lola Run") and Martina Gedeck ("The Good Shepherd") in what is increasingly resembling a who's who of German thesp talent.

Pic is an adaptation of Stefan Aust's book about the Red Army Faction terror group through the 60s and 70s. Helmed by Uli Edel from a script by Eichinger, "Complex" will start lensing in Munich and Berlin this summer, with an autumn 2008 release by Constantin Film skedded.
