Mayhem is financing the movie and Mayhem topper Anthony Mosawi and production prexy Brad Luff are producing with a July start date. Pic is lensing in Winnipeg and Chicago. TWC is repping foreign sales in Cannes.
Script by Duane Adler ("Save the Last Dance," "Step Up") revolves around a young woman from a small town who moves to Chicago with dreams of becoming a professional dancer and falls into performing at a burlesque club.
Winstead's credits include "Live Free or Die Hard," "Bobby" and "Final Destination 3."
Mosawi and Luff launched Mayhem two years ago with the aim of producing two to three features per year, targeting projects based on established franchises such as comicbooks and vidgames, with budgets ranging from $10 million-$30 million.
