According to preliminary nationals from Nielsen, "Bones" (3.2 rating/10 share in adults 18-49, 10.0 million viewers overall) won its hour across the board, seeing its usual pre-"American Idol" bounce in the second half-hour. "Idol" then ruled from 9 to 10 with its results show (10.5/27 in 18-49, 27.4 million viewers overall), roughly matching the combined demo delivery of the next four highest-rated nets.
At CBS, "Jericho" (2.1/7 in 18-49, 7.8 million viewers overall) ended its season meekly, finishing fourth in demos (and second in total viewers) while failing to register any ratings bump for its finale. Net picked up from there with second-place demo finishes from "Criminal Minds" (3.5/9 in 18-49, 12.8 million viewers overall) and "CSI: NY" (3.6/10 in 18-49, 12.7 million viewers overall).
ABC was in the hunt from 8 to 9 with "According to Jim" (2.3/8 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall) and "Notes From the Underbelly" (2.3/7 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) and moved to the lead in demos by 10 o'clock with "Lost" (4.9/13 in 18-49, 11.9 million viewers overall).
NBC was led by a third-place finish at 10 from "Medium" (2.6/7 in 18-49, 7.8 million viewers overall), which built by 3 shares over its weak lead-in from "Crossing Jordan" (1.5/4 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall).
At CW, "America's Next Top Model" (2.4/8 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall) won the 8 o'clock hour in adults 18-34 (3.0/11) while "One Tree Hill" (1.5/4 in 18-49, 3.0 million viewers overall) was again competitive among adults 18-34 (2.1/6), lagging only "Idol."
